Chillies... Fish sauce... Tamarind... Wine

With all the strong flavours and aromas present in Thai cuisine, wine matching can be a bit tricky so please let me know when you make your booking if you would like me to recommend wines to match your food.

All of these wines have been specially selected to match the unique Thai flavours in my dishes.

Whites

Cuma Organic Torrontes 2007
This Argentinean wine, made with organically grown grapes, has aromas of honeysuckle with a hint of honey followed by a fresh & clean mouth-feel along with floral notes.  This is a thicker more oily Torrontes than the commonly seen watery ones.  The name 'Cuma' means clean and pure in Aymara language.

Aromo Viognier 2007
100% Viognier made in the Maule Valley of Chile. Fragrant with honeysuckle and peach aromas, fresh and peachy on the palate with a long finish.

Metz Gewurztraminer 2006
A great Gewurztraminer from Alsace in France that majors on the lighter rose petal side of the aroma scale rather than spicy lychee. Elegant and fresh.

Reds (yes... these reds do go with Thai)

Bourgeuil Graviers 2006
From the Loire Valley in France and made from Cabernet Franc - it has crunch blackberry fruit, not too much tannin and a nice fresh finish.

Regnie Maison des Bulliats 2007
A Cru Beaujolais made from Gamay with nice cherry fruit flavours and soft tannins. Again a fresh finish and a nice easy going style.

Pegoes Tinto 2007
This wine is from the Setubal peninsular in Portugal. Made from Castelao grapes it is a flavoursome red with soft raspberry fruit and a rounded smoothness.
